Disney On Ice

On Friday night my sister, her husband, and I took Skylar to see Disney on Ice: Let's Celebrate. We had the best seats!! In the front row - right next to the ice with nothing between us and the performers! All of the characters waved, winked, and talked to Skylar as they went by. He was SO excited! I love taking him to stuff like this, so he has been to lots of live shows, but this was by far the best! At one point Minnie Mouse even picked him out of the audience and called him to the ice!!
My Moment with Minnie:

Yes, he wore his Buzz costume to the show (you should all know by now that Mommy does insist on dressing for the occasion!). As an aside here, you know you are a scrapbooker when something like this happens and the first thought that goes through your head is 'wow, I can't wait to scrap that'!
And for the Mommies at the show:

Random cute shirtless boys! Disney really does think of everything!
Seriously, we had the best time. As soon as it was over Skylar said 'Can we see it again?'

Thank you Uncle Adam and Aunt Lyndsey for a WONDERFUL night - you guys are the best!

Tudor Inspiration

I have been watching the 1st and 2nd seasons of The Tudors on DVD. I can't figure out why I like it so much...I mean, you would think it would be kind of anti-climactic considering that you already know what is going to happen to every single character, but I just can't stop watching. I am absolutely adoring Anne Boleyn's wardrobe...

I'm particularly inspired by her gorgeous lace collars like the one above and have become a little obsessed with trying to emulate that look with something I can use on a scrapbook page. This is what I have come up with so far:

A great shabby chic way to recycle all those plastic bags that your kits and embellies come packaged in!

P.S. I've been asked why I haven't posted any LOs lately...it's because everything I've done lately has had bits and pieces of the Anthologies Connection April kit on it and I can't show them yet! Seriously, this kit is SO full of product...even after doing all of my DT work I still have so much left to play with! Remember the reveal is April 1st at 12:01 am at www.anthologiesbyme.com. Be there!

Beautiful Boy

I just got to view some proofs of Skylar's latest photo session (his picture obsessed mama takes him to at least one a month...poor kid). These were taken by Brenda at Forget Not Photography. She does FABULOUS work with babies, kids, and families!

Repurpose, Reuse, Recycle

When I sat down at my scrap desk today, the backing sheet (the negative) of the Sassafras Lass chipboard shapes I used in the bottom left corner of yesterday's LO was front and center. Instead of throwing it away, I used it as a frame for a multi-photo collage for today's LO. As you can see from some of my earlier posts, I love to use non-traditional scrapbooking materials and I often use the packaging from my scrap products - it's like a bonus gift for buying the product!

LO OTD

Still had my Sassafras Lass stash and my tree pics out...

Yes, I realize that the picture on this LO looks almost the same as the one from yesterday...that's the thing about having a nice digital camera that can take like a million shots a minute...you end up with 765 pictures of your child in the same pose doing the same thing, but with a slightly different expression on his face and then you don't want to delete any of them because they're all cute and what if you never capture that expression again? Yes, I know it's crazy. But I also know I'm not the only one who has this problem! So, of course, the only logical thing to do is scrap them all.

An Irish Lad and his Lass

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Skylar and his little BFF Phoebe are just ridiculously cute together. Skylar and I went to lunch with Phoebe and her mom and Skylar and Phoebe snuck under the table to hug and kiss!!! I think we have trouble on our hands!

Since it's Spring Break, I am feeling really inspired to scrap Spring-y things and I was thinking about this book I made last Spring. I used the Maya Road tree, bird, and butterfly chipboard albums and mixed the shapes together. The album turned out so chunky and dimensional that I can't really call it a mini book! It's more like a fat little album...lots of home decor trim, fabric, floral findings, and silk ribbon.

Side View:

Here are the pages:

Since it's so fat that it won't stand up, I installed a coffe cup hook on the wall of my scraproom and humg the book up by the chain that binds it together.

A New LO and Another Sneak Peek

Today my Sassafras Lass stash was just calling my name, so I whipped up a quick LO while waiting for the water to boil for dinner (love that my scraproom is conntected to the kitchen!).

And here is another little sneak peek of the FABULOUS Anthologies Connetion April kit.

Get yours April 1st at 12:01 am at www.anthologiesbyme.com. I think they will sell out fast!

Trim Shoppe Heaven

My hubby, Scott, is a teacher and he is on Spring Break this week...woo-hoo!!! Today we decided to take Skylar and one of his favorite playmates, his cousin Ryleigh, to Fossil Rim Wildlife Park in Glen Rose. The kiddos had a blast feeding the animals (and thought it was hilarious when Mommy got licked by a giraffe!).

After we left, I wanted to hit a few of the little shops in the historic downtown square. There was this one shop, I think it was called the Junkyard Dog, that had trunkloads of gorgeous home decor trim...and they were selling most of them for $2 a yard!!! Jackpot!!!

OK, all of my recent posts have been about shopping...I need to post some new LOs! I have been doing my DT work for Anthologies Connection and can't post those yet, but look for another sneak peek soon.

After my little shopping spree (see previous post) I dove into my April Anthologies Connection Kit and finished my first project...so I decided to post a little sneak peek, enjoy!! This kit is full of so much AMAZING eye candy.

Get yours at www.anthologiesbyme.com at 12:01 am April 1st.

Vintage Treasure Trove

Today was the best shopping day! I had a chance to hang out with my mom and sister and we went to this event called the Funky Finds Spring Fling and to some little antique places. I came home with a treasure trove of goodies, all for scrapping, of course: old bingo cards, vintage seam binding, vintage valentines, a nursery song book, vintage broadcloth pieces, old game pieces, millinery findings, playing cards, old ads, vintage lace, old buttons...FABULOUS!!
